The annual basketball youth tournament makes a return after a Covid-19 occasioned break.

Coach Evelyn Kedogo says the response for this year’s Africa’s Dream, now in its eleventh edition, has been amazing and organisers are anticipating huge impact on the sport following the event.

The annual basketball youth tournament makes a return after a Covid-19 occasioned break. Over 40 teams have confirmed participation in the event set for 14 to 16 December at Nyayo Stadium and Strathmore University grounds.

“All is ready for action. The teams have registered and we are in the process of coming up with the fixtures well in time to ensure a smooth event. We have left some room for changes if the need arises but we expect all the teams to turn up.

This is a great opportunity for both local and international scouts to have a big pool of talented basketballers to choose from for their clubs and school teams. In the last tournament in 2019 two boys from Uganda got scholarships from this event so we encourage youth coaches to field their teams,” offered Kedogo.

The tactician has encouraged coaches to ensure that their players get documentation especially passports since that would make it easy for international moves adding that talented players have in the past lost such opportunities due to lack of such documents.
